Kadima Convention - SWUSY Candyland! Middle school students, grades 5-8, will have a chance to experience a Shabbat Kadima convention on March 16th-18th in Austin. Rabbi Estes will be teaching a special class on Ecclesiastes, a book of the Bible traditionally attributed to Solomon, that explores the complex balance of life’s ups and downs.
On March 14, 2012 the Or Ami Senior Trip members will venture to Mrs. Baird's Bread located in NE Houston. The Harris County bus will leave our parking lot at 10:15 A.M. for the guided tour of the bakery. Because this is a factory setting there are specific rules which we are required to follow. Please contact Elaine Gladstone or Hal Morochnik to become familiar with these rules and to make a reservation for the trip.

“In a Nutshell: The Worlds of Maurice Sendak,”
Fort Bend County Libraries will host an Opening Reception for the exhibit, “In a Nutshell: The Worlds of Maurice Sendak,” which will be on display at George Memorial Library, 1001 Golfview in Richmond, beginning March 8, and continuing through April 20, in the Bohachevsky Gallery. The reception will take place on Thursday, March 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, with a special presentation by Dr. David Brenner beginning at 7:00 pm. Dr. Brenner will talk about the influence of Jewish heritage and culture in Maurice Sendak’s life and work, which ultimately transformed our ideas about what a children’s picture book can be. The exhibit is free and may be viewed during regular library hours.
